Woodcote is an area to the south of the Epsom and Ewell Borough of Greater London. The area takes its name from Woodcote Park, a manor house constructed in the 17th century. The park is now owned by the RAC, which has its country club there. Previous to this it was a convalescent home during World War 1.

Woodcote is on the fringe of the Epsom Downs close to the famous Epsom racecourse. On a clear day you can see the whole of London and some of rural Surrey from there. Horse racing has taken place on the downs for over 500 years and this has contributed to the growth of Woodcote. Queen Elizabeth I is known to have gone horse riding in the area when she visited nearby Nonsuch Palace.

Woodcote is one of the most affluent areas of the Epsom and Ewell Borough. Many large hosues were built in there in the late 19th century although the majority of the residential development took place after the end of the 2nd World War.
