to residents of Kennington and anywhere else in the UK. Even if
there is no car hire location where you live The Car Hire Company
will deliver the car to you. We can also collect the car if you
are not able to drop it off at any of our convenient locations.
We have a wide selection of cars including Ford, Vauxhall, Audi,

Kennington Local Information.
Kennington, a suburb in the borough of Lambeth, was one of the
places to be hit quite badly with bombs during World War II, in
the enemy’s attempt to hit the Thames River and railways.
There was a shelter in Kennington Park, and when it was bombed many
bodies were left unrecovered and the ground simply levelled. You
can see the outline of the building from the air, when the earth
is dry. The park has a cafe, where you can park your car hire and
sit with a coffee and take in the atmosphere and sights.
Kennington Park and Saint Mark’s churchyard now covers Kennington
Common, where in 1746 the local gallows stood. An ancient Roman
road once cut through the park – indeed, Kennington Park Road
is an old Roman road. Why not travel in your car hire down the road
and picture what it was like so many years ago. The famous Geoffrey
Chaucer who is best known for writing The Canterbury Tales was once
employed as Kennington Clerk of Works in 1389. In 1899, the first
motorised bus in the world travelled from Victoria to Kennington
Park.
