Woldingham Local Information
A small village in the county of Surrey, Woldingham is set
just within the M25 between Oxted and Warlingham. Situated
high on the North Downs, over 700 feet above sea level, Woldingham
offers fantastic views from some points of the village.
Situated South East of London, the village has become part
of the London commuter belt. The fantastic transport links
to surrounding areas and the city centre mean commuters find
the village attractive with easy access into London. This
also means that Woldingham has become a desirable place to
live and so house prices are fairly high.
Woldingham is connected to Central London East Grinstead
line and was opened in 1884. A long tunnel was built under
the village for the train to pass through. London is easily
reached within 30 minutes by train making it ideal for commuters.
The village was first mentioned in 1086 in the Domesday Book
and was listed as Wallingeham. One of the smallest churches,
St Agathea’s, is also in Woldingham and was first mentioned
in 1270.
