The citizens of South Norwood find an interesting collection of
local pubs. Some of the names such as "the Albert Tavern, Gold
Coast Bar and Restaurant, Oceans Apart, Duke of Clarence and Gladstone"
seem to beckon the residents to stop in for a pint. Fortunately,
many are within walking distance of their homes.
At one time the Albert Tavern was a three-story building. Sadly,
it was demolished during the war in the 1940's. It has since been
rebuilt. Recently it was redecorated and equipped with a gigantic
flat screen TV.
Croydon is situated close to South Norwood. The nightlife in Croydon
is second to none and many clubs, pubs and restaurants for you to
visit.
