Chingford Local Information

Having begun life as a small hamlet beside the River Lea in the Waltham Forest borough, it has become home to such notable landmarks as Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge. The lodge was originally known as the Great Standing and was built for King Henry VIII. It was used to observe deer hunting but has been altered greatly over time. It is located in Epping Forest on Chingford Plain. The site is open to the public.
