We can include a moving pack with your van, upon request, which includes boxes, wrapping paper, tape and bubble wrap.

Chertsey Local Information

Chertsey is one of the oldest towns in England being founded in 666 by Saint Erkenwald, Bishop of London. Chertsey is a town rich in history, and therefore has been given the name 'The historical town of Chertsey'. Chertsey Abbey grew to become one of the largest Benedictine abbeys in England until Henry the 8th removed it in 1536.

Fast forward to the 18th century; this marked the time when the Chertsey Bridge was constructed. It provides an important cross-river link and Chertsey Lock is a short way above it on the opposite side.
Another interesting fact, Chertsey has been a popular mention in the late 19th century popular culture. In The War of the Worlds, an H. G. Wells' book written in 1898, the attacking Martian forces destroyed Chertsey in the early afternoon of June 8th 1902.
