Hooley’s village shopping parade has recently undergone a £20,000 makeover in a scheme by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in an attempt to transform the villages in the area.

To the east of Hooley, approximately 2 km away, a brand new village is being built on the site of a Victorian Insane Asylum and will be named Netherne-on-the-Hill.
