North Kensington Local Information

North Kensington is the key neighbourhood of Notting Hill and where most of the movie of the same name was shot. Even though estate agents call the affluent area in the south ‘Notting Hill’ they are actually referring to the areas of Notting Hill Gate and Holland Park.

North Kensington was once known for its areas of ‘slum’ housing but prices have now increased to such an extent that investment bankers are buying up all the Victorian terraces. There still remains a good proportion of council-subsidised housing too so with the high multicultural population there is a tremendous mix of class and race.
