Maida Vale is a residential area located in the City of Westminster and was developed in the early 1800s as middle class housing. The Battle of Maida (1806) lent its name to a pub, The Hero of Maida, and the name Maida Vale was born from this. Maida Vale primarily contains many large Edwardian houses and has a large population of Jewish people.

You can take your car hire to Maida Hill, and to the south, where lies Little Venice – so called because of its many houseboats on the Paddington Basin (a junction of three canals).
