Hook Local Information

A land dispute in the thirteenth century put Hook on the map and until that time Hook was just a few scattered homes and farms. This southwest England town was mainly used a stagecoach route from London to Exeter until the early eighteenth century. Inns started sprouting up and a railroad was built in the 1830’s making Hook a nice village to call home.

The mid 1980’s proved to be a fruitful time for the town and became the target for some major housing developments. This growth continued until it reached its current population of approximately 6,200 residents. Hook remains a very beautiful centrally located town and a wonderful place to raise a family in traditional English fashion. Its close proximity to London and surrounding quaint towns makes it a perfect stopover for guests.
